how can this happen ?

i and my friend both share my gears . for the last month , i gave him my gears . and one day a player add him to the trade partner and gave him a vip lvl 1 service after 3 days that player steal all the gears which are mine and take the vip service .
1- my friend didnt gave that player any info regarding the ID or Pass
2- my friends user id and char name are the same
so i want to know how this player come to know my friend's id and pass is that from the vip service ?
any one have an opinion on how this happen ?
note : i fill a hack case and waiting for their respond .

EDIT 25/10/2011 : i got my items back today thanks co they send my friend an email that shows the name of the scammer who steal the gears and gave it back to my friends account and they change his pass to protect him so he log in with the new pass and get the items back . thanks again CO

Your friend obviously gave away info and is lying to you about it. You took the risk by sharing gears, don't expect TQ to give you anything back

^ What he said. First of all, in order to bind VIP to an account, you would need to know the account ID. Which would mean that he, as Matt said, is probably lying about it. Also, since your friend doesn't have VIP, he probably didn't know that the binder doesn't need to know the password. In which your friend probably gave as well, unknowingly, to the binder.

Matt and Khev : i am sure that my friend did not steal my gears we are friends since 2007 we are like brothers . i always give him my gears not for 1 hour but for days and weeks and i get them back as usual . as i mentioned before his account id and char name are the same . the only thing i want to make sure is : if you bind a char to have a vip service can u know the char's pass ?

No. Even if he didn't give the guy his password (which he probably did) the guy had his account ID and that's half the battle. It's possible that since the guy had the account ID he just ran a crack to get the password. Probably what everyone else said though. Your friend didn't know any better so gave him his password and his account ID.

Scammer,
"Hey. I need your password and account ID to give you VIP."

Your friend,
"Ok."

It amazes how nieve people can be...they call these guys "friends/like brothers"... and most have never even met these people in real life. I mean 90 pct of people in this game make girl chars and wait for it....ARE GUYS!!!

Bottom line, you share gear, you will always be at risk of losing them. and, you deserve to lose the gear... Scammers will always be scammers. Dont be a sucker...dont share ur gear.
