just occurred me...

How can you have only a +8 while I've seen +12 gears selling for prices
like US$ 300 to 600 ? If I'm right, you could have one half-12-ed char ?

* Calculated by TQ Card of $29.99 for 2050 CPs.

Well most my bulk was put into the game when I first joined and not knowing much about the game I was working everything up liek training quest told me to do. Making items super, buying stones to increase +, adding DB's for sockets as well as tough drills. By the time I learned how much cheaper it would be to buy the gears already made, it was too late I was unable to really bulk big at once. So thats why my gears arent too great for the amount I have put into it.

Yes, I know how it is, after years I came back and was a little eager in market he he.

I spent only $195 so far and paused the "buy button". I used to find cheap low level super 2 soc clubs or blades in the past, hard to trade but my good rep as player counted in Ryee (and being a DB buyer also helped a lot that time).

Now I can't find 2-socs under lv.50~100 and most times they are already over lv.120 and +5ed or something, typical botter stuff, I guess.

Honestly, I'm waiting to see how things develop with the launching of CO 3.0.

My goal is still be full 2-soc +5 (-5 is optional), but I'm trying to make it without paypal.
I know its really hard to upgrade your gears after lv.110, not to mention to get exp.
As I said somewhere, I had a tro.110 on +5s (not fully) and it costed me like $400, including an archer noob lv.20 on supers +1 just to look cool

Any advice from the veterans?

Most of my gear on my Trojan (Although, I share some with my other characters.) are +4's. I really wish it were a bit easier to obtain +'s. In fact, that would certainly curb the botters from selling gear at outrageous prices. I'm looking forward to putting my level 120 gear back on so I can work on upgrading their +'s.

Sadly, TQ already did something about it, they sell plus-stones in shopping mall.
I'm not against that, no, I really believe TQ took long before adding an item cash mall
like other games, its a must for the paying players.

Just the drop rates for +1, +2 and +3, considering +8's will never drop, should increase.

La la la forget about thaat.

Yeah, and the prices for + stones in the Shopping Mall are outrageous!!! The prices virtually triple with each higher stone listed; that hardly seems like appropriate "accounting" to me.

But that's the point...

It takes 3x +3 stone to make a +4 stone....

1x +3 makes the item +3

Then the other 2 are needed to make the item +4.

So actually they should increase in price by triple each time.

Old time CO used a composing system similar to D&D.

As Colossus said, its a pyramid scheme where you need three +1s to compose a +2.
The first one was different, you just needed to get an item you liked and add two +1
others (of same type) to make it +1. Most common type was the trojan club wich
could be made with any other single handed weapon (1H or One-Hander).

So a +1 could be "free", it could simply drop, or composed.
I still use to put basic +1s onto an elite soc item to better it.
Back then we used an exponential calculator:

03x +1 = (+2) or plain 3¹
09x +1 = 3x +2 = (+3) or just 3²
27x +1 = 9x +2 = 3x +3 = (+4) or as in 3³
and so on up to
19683x +1 = ... (+9) or 3^9

If I'm correct that was the top gear back in 2006. And nobody did it at that time.

Considering the drop rates, a good archer would gather some 2-4 +1s in a hour at apes or snakemen.
But you couldn't expect to make ALL items, so you should stick to one type and trade the rest -
Unfortunately, most players were after clubs, bows and tao sachs.
For clubs or swords any One-Hander (1H) would do, since weapons for a single hand can mix.
For wands and longhammers any Two-Hander (2H).
You couldn't mix coat and armour and robe types, however.

I made two +5 clubs that way, since there was no other. Kids got mad! Took me months...

Guys, with current drop(-dead) rates, how long would it take?
