Well, this one really made me "Oh, shut, waddafup"

Players can change their chars names as much as they want, no longer limited.

Now what is the purpose of this? To break identity and ease the hacking cases or what?
For players to scam and screw people and then sell their accounts?

With the many "asdasdasd" or "112233123" or "ÖçÂÊìû" chars in game,
I guess its another of TQ's ideas to get rid of bots... let them pick "legit" names.
Not that they will care, those chars are just expendable non-recycleable
- OH wait, they are making the game more "green"... That is NOT what I meant
I suggested to make free off-line time for everybody so we don't waste
connections neither power.

Ok, can someone throw some light? I really don't get it and TQ didn't tell.

All I see here is the good ol'e player/char reputation going with the wind.

I don't see anything bad about this, maybe some people just want to change their names rather than making a new char which will cost you a lot more in the end if you count lvling, upping gear, getting promo items, going 2nd rb etc. It costs 810cps a go to change your name, which is a high enough price not to do it every day, but low enough to be affordable if you really want to do it.

It still shows a system message that "John Doe decided to change his name to Jane Doe, the new name will take effect after next server maintenance." and all your enemies and friends get a whispered message about it.

Plain and shortly yes, as almost everything, but still not to my like,
for aforementioned reasons. Well... guess its a "get over and used to it".

Hey thanks for the details, usefull insight here. But still I don't like it.
Maybe if TQ had a history page with search so we could backtrack names.
And player activity, like PKing, joining/leaving guilds, etc?

Well, I would make it like 10 DB.
